Over the past few months, we have started to see more information about the Galaxy S22 series, the high-end smartphone series expected to be launched by Samsung early next year.
Today, leaked information about the successor models of the Galaxy S22 has just been shared online and they mainly focus on the screens of these devices.
According to Korean blog Naver, the Galaxy S22 series will not have an under-display camera like the Galaxy Z Fold3. Twitter user, Tron (@FrontTron), known for Samsung-related leaks shared that the technology is not yet advanced enough for mass production. Given that the Galaxy S-series is the Korean company’s flagship product line in the high-end segment, it’s not surprising that they don’t want to sabotage sales with a selfie camera that’s less than desirable.
Therefore, Samsung is most likely still using a punch-hole solution to accommodate the selfie camera on its upcoming Galaxy S22 flagships. In terms of size, today’s source once again confirms that the next Galaxy S flagships will be smaller than the previous generation. In particular, the Galaxy S22 will have a 6.06-inch screen, while the Galaxy S22+ will appear with a 6.55-inch size. They are smaller than the Galaxy S21 and Galaxy S21 Plus, which have screens of 6.2 inches and 6.7 inches, respectively.
The Galaxy S22 Ultra model will have a 6.81-inch screen, practically unchanged from the S21 Ultra. The source said Samsung is trying to make a big difference between the “Plus” and “Ultra” models through the screen size.
As for the processor, there is information that there is a high possibility that Samsung will integrate the Snapdragon 895 processor for the Galaxy S22 series in its home country of Korea. In addition, these flagships will also have versions using the Exynos 2200 chip, but they will only be sold in a limited number of markets due to production problems.
Tron has also revealed that the Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S22 Plus will have three rear cameras including one 50MP sensor and two 12MP sensors. As for the Galaxy S22 Ultra, it will have four cameras on the back – a 108MP main sensor, three 12MP sensors, and a laser autofocus module.
