Armored Core 6 is set to launch in South Korea, so it doesn’t seem like it’s one of those games with a delayed release this year. This suggests that Armored Core is in a pretty playable state and gearing up for the 2023 release promised last year.
We don’t have a specific release date yet, or a release window beyond 2023. However, since the game has already been given an age rating in one region, you can expect that to change soon. It will be revealed as showcase season approaches.
This development was discovered by Gematsu and bodes well for FromSoftware fans looking for another game to jump into after Elden Ring.
In South Korea, Armored Cores are approved for players 12 years of age and older. This is significantly lower than the Elden Ring, which is only approved for adults in Korea, and the 16+ in Europe.
Armored Core is much longer than Elden Ring, so the age-rated notes don’t give too many details about the game other than that it includes some violence. It’s a lot different than, for example, finding out that someone is going to say “shit” in Final Fantasy 16, which I discovered last month.
However, on the subject of Final Fantasy 16, the reveal of its own age rating was fans’ confirmation that the game wouldn’t be delayed until 2024. Then it’s safe to assume the same applies to Armored Core 6.
This could also mean that the Armored Core 6 will be with us this September, as previously rumored. This will potentially be a pretty busy time for FromSoft, leaving some time this year for Elden Ring’s DLC.
Of course, this is now good news only for fans of the FromSoft work, but especially for those who have stuck with the Armored Core series. The last game, Armored Core 5, was released in 2012. The series skipped an entire console generation after that, so news of a new game last year was a very welcome surprise.
Also, several highly anticipated games have now been pushed back to next year, so unless you’re affected by the latest delays, we’ll see developers. Most recently, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League was delayed by nine months to release in 2024. Official releases of Ark 2, The Wolf Among Us 2, and MultiVersus are also among other titles that have been delayed. And not to mention the games that were supposed to be with us earlier this year are being pushed back to late 2023.
