Chapter 12 of Fire Emblem Engage Are you always traveling the desert to fight the terrifying corrupt? This encounter confronts a very unique dilemma. The best strategy in Engage is usually to get your units together to give you an edge in battle. They won’t survive.
So will you score a clean victory and sacrifice the villagers, or will you spread your army thin to rescue them? Well, don’t worry. It will give you all the instructions you need to win while simultaneously rescuing all the villagers.

setup steps
At this point in the game, you will have a large roster of characters. Unfortunately, this mission is limited to bringing only 6 people into battle. We can divide this encounter into two stages. The first part of this is to get access to civilians and protect them from the corrupt. The second is against a second wave of corrupt that invades a few rounds later.
Civilian rescue is not mandatory. However, each civilian carries an item that will be given to you if you rescue them. This item is lost when it perishes.
to get to civilians on time We recommend bringing Chloe or Ivy (or both) as we need mobility. The second step requires resilience. Louis and Jade are ideal for a team. Taking both isn’t a bad idea considering the small number of magic units your enemies will have to use against you, but they will be relatively useless for rescuing civilians in the first section of the battle.
In our run, we brought only one flying unit, Chloe. However, if Ivy had also been brought, the battle would have been much smoother. Flying units are very important at this stage.
Due to terrain with too many obstacles that hinder movement Archers are very useful in this encounter. However, both emblem rings can make your units act according to their abilities, and one of the new units you’ll get in this chapter also happens to be an archer, so that role is covered pretty well. Of course, having a healer by your side helps too, but one of the new allies you get here will also have healing abilities. When deploying troops, Place your flying units on the ground. The rest can go anywhere, but we want our flying characters to be as close to civilians as possible.
This is not one of the more difficult missions you will face during the course of the game. So if you have a character you want to level up, this is a good map for that character.

Now that you’ve amassed an army, the first step is simple. Send the air units you brought to the southwest section of the map. This is where all the townspeople gather. It will take you a turn or two to get to them, so attack the corrupted ones you meet along the way. But remember that your priority is to reach the villagers with flying units, not kill the corrupted ones (the corrupted ones are the villagers). Send another unit north with Fodago, Pandreo, and Bunet to help take over the area. Others should start working towards the center of the map through the Fallen. You should start by focusing on the lone mage. They’re pretty close, so you can take them out before they have a chance to cast a single spell.
Moving through quicksand is perfectly fine. If you have to, you have to, but your next turn will be spent trying to get out of it.
Fogado is likely to be your first mounted archer, and the usefulness of his enhanced mobility cannot be overstated. Bunet is a cavalry unit very similar to Vander, but has much better stats. Pandreo is a healer who can also cast magic spells. He is equipped with a physical wand that can heal from a distance, which he can put to good use in this fight. These three make a pretty effective squad and as a team should be able to effectively fight the Corrupted in the northern part of the map. Draw their attention with Bunet, heal them from range with Pandreo, then finish them off with Fogado. It’s an effective system.
Villagers can be attacked by the Corrupted on all difficulties except Maddening, unless you’re lucky.
In the third round, the villagers are directed to the stone in the center of the stage. You might have gotten hit or two along the way. Thankfully, Pandreo should be close enough to heal as Physic staff. At this point the other units should also move to the center (Try to force the armored units to step back a bit if possible.), and Chloe is nearby. Your first priority is to kill any corrupt who may be within sight of the villagers. Wolf Knight to the south of the villagers, Swordmaster further south, and Ax Fighter to the west.
The Swordmaster has a special weapon called the Levin Sword. It’s a powerful weapon, so you might want to pluck it from the Swordmaster’s cold, dead hands and give it to one of the swordsmen.
Send your troops to the villagers and the hard part will be over. Gather the remaining forces and you will enter the next phase of the battle… Now enemy reinforcements will begin to flood in. A pair of swordsmen will enter from the north and a pair of axemen from the east. Both groups are accompanied by martial monks. This is where our recommended heavy armored units come in. They will draw in this foe and block the attack. None of these units can do significant damage to them. Shoot Chloe all the way to the northern part of the map to help deal with that group.
In the next round you will face another reinforcement. This time 2 wolf knights and 1 mage will attack from the north, and 2 lance fliers will attack from the east. Start by eliminating mages who pose a threat to armored units. (That’s why it’s good to have someone like Chloe on the northern part of the map. She should be able to get rid of this threat very quickly.) Also, Use Lyn’s Astra Storm Engage attack to take out one of the flying units. From here, all it takes is a simple task of clearing out the remaining forces. Wolf Knights cannot damage armored units and should be able to shoot them from the air with one of the many bow wielders when the rest of the flying units swoop in. And with that, the battle must end.
explore after battle
In the exploration phase Talk to the three villagers you saved. They will give you Elixir, Disruption Staff and Master Seal. Now start looking for those resources. In the center of the map are 50 Bond Fragments and 20 Iron Fragments. There are 4 steel ingots at the top of the map. There is a spice in the southeast corner of the map.
You can adopt an Elyos dog in the north of the map. There is also a beautiful Panna Camel near the center of the map., but cannot be adopted until donated to this area. We know it hurts too.
