Multipliers are used when a Pokemon has two types that are weak to the same type.. For example, Swampert, a ground and water type Pokémon, 4x damage from grass-type moves.
If the Pokemon’s type means it’s completely immune to other types of moves (e.g. Normal-type Pokémon are immune to Ghost-type moves), Extra typing does not negate this immunity.. For example, Normal and Electric-type Pokémon are still immune to Ghost-type moves despite being Electric-type.
